Fans Express Disappointment with MrBeast Collaboration at Resorts World
Many fans were left dissatisfied with their experience at Resorts World in Las Vegas, where they were promised a special collaboration with popular YouTube star MrBeast, also known as James Donaldson.
What Was Promised?
In January, Resorts World announced a three-day $1000 experience with MrBeast, which took place from April 13 to April 15. The event offered patrons a chance to enjoy themed experiences, lodging, and activations at select restaurants on the property.
Fans’ Complaints
However, the actual experience fell short of expectations for many fans. Instead of exclusive gifts and high-quality merchandise as promised, attendees received a box of chocolates and low-quality MrBeast merchandise in their hotel rooms. Furthermore, the $10,000 gift voucher promised to one lucky patron remained unconfirmed.
Moreover, fans were disappointed when MrBeast did not make an appearance at the event, despite prior announcements that he would not be present. Guest anger escalated when the star failed to attend a meet-and-greet as anticipated.
Resorts World and MrBeast Respond
Resorts World’s response to the situation did not appease fans. On the final day of the event, around 30 dissatisfied attendees gathered in the lobby demanding refunds. Resorts World CEO, Alex Dixon, offered apologies and donuts but no refunds. Instead, he provided $50 in food and beverage credits. Both Resorts World and MrBeast removed all mentions of the collaboration from their social media and websites.
Due to the fans’ outcry, Resorts World eventually refunded attendees. MrBeast also expressed his disappointment in fans receiving a subpar experience and assured them his team is working on a solution. He extended an invitation to those affected to visit his studio.
Previous Incidents
This is not the first time a Las Vegas event involving MrBeast faced criticism. Last year, during the filming of his “Beast Games” series for Amazon Prime at Allegiant Stadium, MrBeast faced accusations of mistreating contestants.
Overall, the collaboration between MrBeast and Resorts World did not meet fans’ expectations, leading to frustration and demands for refunds. Both parties have acknowledged the shortcomings and are working towards rectifying the situation to ensure a better experience for fans in the future.
