iGaming Industry Thrives in the US with $868.6 Million Revenue in April
Despite some US states being hesitant to legalize online casinos, the ones that have taken the leap are reaping the benefits. According to recent reports, the seven states where iGaming is legal saw a substantial increase in revenue, hitting $868.6 million in April alone, marking a 32.5% year-on-year growth.
iGaming Continues to Flourish in April Following a Record-Breaking March
Recent data from Casino Reports reveals that each state that offers online gaming experienced a growth rate of at least 25% compared to the previous year. The $868.6 million generated in April represents a significant increase of over $213 million, indicating the industry’s rapid expansion.
Although April’s revenue fell slightly short of the record-breaking $900 million achieved in March, Casino Reports remains optimistic about the sector’s future growth and potential.
With the exception of Michigan and New Jersey, the iGaming states collectively handled approximately $10.2 billion in gaming activity. Pennsylvania stood out as the top performer, contributing around $7.5 billion to the total handle, while Connecticut surpassed $1.6 billion once again.
Casino Reports also noted that taxable operator revenue reached $787.9 million in April, resulting in $169.3 million in taxes, showing an increase of $43.9 million from the same period in 2024. This figure, however, excludes local taxes and tribal disbursements.
Revenue Soars Across Different States
Pennsylvania and Connecticut emerged as leaders in the iGaming sector, showcasing consistent growth. Pennsylvania recorded $282.8 million in iGaming revenue, solidifying its position as the top online casino state. On the other hand, Connecticut witnessed fierce competition between FanDuel and DraftKings, leading to $31.6 million in gross revenue, marking a 38.3% year-on-year growth.
Michigan and New Jersey also reported substantial revenue with $248.1 million and $235.2 million, respectively.
Even states like Delaware and Rhode Island experienced remarkable revenue growth in April. BetRivers, the iGaming operator in Delaware, saw a significant increase in gross revenue, reaching $9.9 million, nearly doubling from April 2024. Similarly, Bally’s, the sole iGaming provider in Rhode Island, witnessed a threefold increase in revenue, climbing to $9.9 million.
Overall, the iGaming industry in the US continues to thrive, showcasing impressive revenue figures and promising growth potential for the future.
